Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company Limited (NNP1PC) was set up to develop Nam Ngiep1 hydropower projects in Lao PDR, with KPIC Netherlands B.V. holding 45%, EGATi 30% and LHSE 25% of the stocks.
Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project is located at Ngiep River in Bolikhamxay district in the middle of Lao PDR, 145 kilometers away to the Northeast of the capital city; Vientiane. It has the generating capacity of 287 MW (The generating capacity of the EGATi is of 86.7MW) consisting of the main dam; a roller compacted concrete dam with a capacity of 269 MW generating average of 1,490 million units of electricity to the transmission system 230 kV annually reaching to of Nabong High Voltage Electricity Station before being forwarded to Thailand via a 500 kV electricity transportation system into Udon Thani High Voltage Electricity station 3 to sell electricity to Thailand. The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been made with EGAT and Re-Regulation Dam with installed power generating capacity of 18 MW generating an average of 122 million units annually and is connected to the transmission system 115 kW in length to the Pakxan High Voltage Electricity Station of Electricite du Laos (EDL) contracted by PPA with EDL.
In this regard, the secondary dam power plant began commercial electricity supply on 16 March 2019. The main dam power plant began commercial electricity supply on 5 September 2019, the project price is approximately USD 957 million. Investment in the company's equity of $287 million
